5k for Louisiana Shakespeare Company
Hey Everybody!
I'm doing something I never thought I’d willingly do at 41… I’m running a 5K in under 30 minutes. I know it’s not very far or fast… but it is for me and my stubby little legs.
I’m lacing up my sneakers, hitting the pavement, and training with purpose to cross that finish line in the Superdome for the Saints Kickoff 5k in under 30 minutes. But I’m not just doing it for myself — I’m doing it for a cause I care deeply about, the Louisiana Shakespeare Company.
Their mission is to "enrich communities in Louisiana through accessible, inclusive, and professional theatre experiences that educate, inspire, and entertain diverse audiences. Through Shakespeare’s truths we empower the theatre artist in everyone."
Over the past few years, I’ve had the honor of watching this company grow and thrive. From accessible library performances to full-scale productions, they bring excellent theatre to South Louisiana — all while keeping it inclusive, community-driven, and artistically excellent.
I believe in the work they do, and I want to support it in any way I can… even if that means running.
This fundraiser isn’t tied to an emergency or a deadline — it’s just a heartfelt push to raise awareness and support for a company making meaningful art in our region. Every donation helps fuel their mission and keeps theatre vibrant, alive, and accessible for everyone.
Our ultimate fundraising goal is $2000.00.
Your donation will go toward their community programs and making them accessible to low income areas.
Whether you give $5 or $50, every dollar makes a difference, though a certain level may let you affect my playlist — and I promise to keep running (and complaining) every step of the way.
Remember to boost the signal! Like and share this if you can!

Thank you for supporting local theatre, artists, and my very reluctant jogs.
With gratitude and sore legs,
