Help The Animals Affected by the So Cal Fires with Me....
UPDATED DETAILS TO AVOID ANY CONFUSION!
As many of you have probably seen in the news already, the animals & horses being affected by the fires right now in So Cal is absolutely devastating and heartbreaking. However, I'm blessed to have Living Free Animal Sanctuary, which also set up the initiative War Horse Creek (which is a program for veterans & horses), as my neighbor. Today, their Operations Coordinator (who is a regular at the restaurant and I've gotten to know) stopped in for a fast lunch. He told me that they have been busy non-stop working with other organizations to rescue as many animals as they can. Living Free Animal Sanctuary and War Horse Creek currently has appox. 33 canines, 77 felines, & 16 equines (including a couole donkeys ). And will hopefully be receiving more in the following weeks from the LA Fires. We are about an hour and 45 min to two hours away from the fires.
I told him that I'd like to help if I can in any way, maybe with fundraising. He mentioned to me that between organizing trips back and forth with animals, and going through all of the protocols and procedures for these types of situations, he is also currently trying to get funding for, four 10kw generators (which, yes, are used all the time here on the mountain—in fact, mine is back on and probably will be a lot between now and Wed. because of Santa Ana winds and fire risks) for the housing units that are sheltering the cats & dogs (it's freezing cold here at night, and heating sources are limited due to fire risks). From what I can tell, these units run about $3500 each! They would be a great help for there buildings. There is currently not a GoFundMe set up specifically for the generators, so this is me trying to help and hoping you will also...The people from this great organization are so busy, lets try to help them...So,
