Parking and Renovation of Little Bulgaria Center
Please join us in our efforts to raise money for building a 63 car parking lot and renovating the Cultural and Education Center "Little Bulgaria" located at 832 Lee St, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
The building was purchased on 05.30.2019 by Little Bulgarian School in Chicago, Inc. (LBS), a registered 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization. LBS was incorporated in 2010 and started its first school with 13 kids at the home of Jivka Petrova in Elk Grove Village. Now the organization has 609 kids at 3 different locations in Chicagoland. The new building will serve as the main operations center and will have a variety of educational, cultural and sports activities and events for the community. We plan to relocate up to 200 kids from other locations to start school there in Sept 2019.
According to the agreement with the Village of Des Plaines, LBS will have to build a new parking lot to accommodate the needs of its operation. The 90-year-old building also needs new floors in all its classrooms and other small renovations. We also accept donations in the form of materials or just general help by volunteers to clean and organize the building.
Help us to bring back the glamour to this beautiful architectural gem in the heart of Des Plaines and leave our mark for generations to come!
