You can make a difference by donating today to Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) Chicago this Giving Tuesday!
The Young Professionals Advisory Board (YPAB) invites you to join us as we make sure no elder is forgotten this holiday season. And, you can help us earn a matching gift (up to $8,850 now!).
You are making it possible for us to bring over 500 delicious, homecooked meals, with holiday cheer, and the warmth of friendship to elders who will otherwise spend Christmas Day alone, and nearly 140 nursing home and assisted living deliveries. Hundreds of volunteers will make these deliveries on Christmas Day to let each elder know they are remembered and cared for.
In addition, LBFE will be delivering a personalized holiday gift to over 850 elders, a bag of holiday goodies, and warm conversation from a friendly volunteer throughout the month of December.
Our support and friendship is throughout the year:
- Every month 140 customized food bags are delivered
- Each month we celebrate 55-85 elder birthdays with a special gift, visit, a volunteer calls and sing Happy Birthday
- We help with errands, assist them with their technology questions, and lend an ear when they need to chat
- Each day we embrace our motto of flowers before bread and connect with our elders to provide meaningful social opportunities bringing them from isolation to celebration.
