Help Literacy Volunteers Tutor Adults During COVID
The Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County (LVCC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving residents' lives through free literacy instruction. Our team is the sole provider of one-on-one services in all of Chautauqua County, offering tutoring to adults to gain crucial skills in:
Reading, writing, math, speaking, and English language instruction
Basic computer literacy, workplace preparation and life skills
Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County (LVCC) relies on contributions from individuals, businesses and organizations. Your donations make it possible to reach more people and provide more services.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our organization has seen a sharp reduction in these contributions, endangering our ability to continue providing services for students currently in our program – a potential threat that could be devastating to many families and to our community.
This need is urgent, as many parents are unable to homeschool their children without knowing English. Also, many among the rapidly increasing number of unemployed adults will need help with their literacy skills and workplace preparation in order to return to work or find a job.
Right now our volunteers are reaching our students through distance learning, and the need for our services continues to grow. Please help us continue to provide these services in the face of this pandemic. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, all donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.
