About Literacy Link - Leamos
Our mission is to raise literacy levels in Grant County, NM through free tutoring and outreach. Grant County is in the southwestern corner of the state, with 20% of residents living below poverty level, and a 16% high school dropout rate. One-to-one tutoring has been proven to be the best way to help adults improve their literacy skills, education and eventual job prospects. Our small staff (1.5 FTE), with help from our Board of Directors, directs the activities of at least 100 volunteers every year. Our volunteer tutors include retired educators and others in the community who care about helping Grant County adults improve their lives and the lives of their children.
