About Lionfish University

We are a group of divers dedicated to the preservation of our ocean's reefs and native fish populations, which are threatened by the lionfish invasion spreading throughout the Caribbean, the Gulf of Mexico, the Western Atlantic, down to South America and more recently the Mediterranean. The goal of Lionfish University is to promote community efforts and scientific research to curb lionfish populations, to raise awareness in the global community about the importance of maintaining the fragile ecosystem that invasive lionfish continue to threaten. Our mandate is broad and includes any ocean conservation related issue.
