Meet Teddy (many of you may have already), a gentle soul who has been a beacon of hope at Liberty Haven Farm since his rescue in the summer of 2019. When we found him, he was underweight, sick, and lost in a cycle of auctions that seemed never ending. Sadly, he was just a number passing through the auctions, not even considered as an animal in need. This was Teddy’s last chance, and despite his solemn demeanor, his kind eyes reflected a spirit that yearned for love and a place to call home.
After a month of quarantine to recover from an infection, Teddy showed us that he still had so much to give. It became clear that he had once known the warmth of a caring hand. Over the years, Teddy has become our rock, touching the lives of countless children and adults. He’s definitely a lesson favorite! His gentle nature allows him to sense when someone is struggling, offering comfort to those in need.
Teddy is now in need again. Our vet has recommended surgery to remove his third eyelid on his left eye, which is crucial for preserving his eyesight. Since he is already partially blind in his right eye, this procedure is vital for Teddy to continue to have a pain free quality of life and to continue to bring joy and healing to those facing challenges.
The cost of Teddy’s surgery is estimated to be approximately $3,000, and we are turning to our community for support. Liberty Haven Farm is more than just a sanctuary for animals; it’s a haven for people and animals seeking connection and healing through interactions with each other. We are committed to ensuring Teddy stays healthy and happy in his forever home at Liberty Haven Farm.

Across the world, we are facing uncertain times together as the Covid-19 crisis continues to build and change the way we live. Unlike any other crisis, this is affecting everyone, schools, service workers, hospitals, regardless of industry and age. It pains us to have to begin our fundraising efforts during this time recognizing the struggles we all are facing. The cost to care, feed, tend to the medical needs of our rescue animals plus the expense to maintain the equipment and land is exorbitant.
