Tonya, a Detroit native and Eastern Michigan University graduate, has built an esteemed career based on her lifelong love for animals. With over 20 years of experience in the grooming industry and more than 15 years in the broader pet care field, Tonya's dedication to the well-being of pets has shaped her into a respected leader in the industry.

Tonya's expertise and passion have led to appearances on local news, where she has showcased her business and promoted pet care events. Her influence reaches beyond local borders, with teaching opportunities in Lagos, Nigeria, and Accra, Ghana, where she has shared her grooming knowledge internationally.

In 2024, Tonya took her commitment to pet care a step further by founding LC's Foundation, a nonprofit organization recognized as a 501(c)(3). LC’S Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of pets through comprehensive education, professional grooming services, and specialized training, both locally and internationally. The foundation aims to build stronger bonds between people and their pets by equipping pet owners and professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to provide the best care possible.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, LC'S Foundation accepts tax-deductible donations that directly support its mission. These contributions allow the foundation to offer educational programs, provide grooming services to pets in need, and expand its reach to underserved communities, both locally and abroad.

At LC’S Foundation, we are dedicated to making a lasting impact on the well-being of pets and the people who care for them. Our mission is to strengthen the bond between pets and their owners through education, professional grooming, and specialized training, both in local communities and internationally.

The idea for LC’S Foundation was sparked by my own experiences abroad. After traveling to Nigeria and Ghana with another nonprofit organization over the years, I saw firsthand the lack of pet care resources in these regions and the potential . There was a clear need for education, professional grooming, and better pet care services, and I knew I wanted to make a difference—not just in Africa, but also here in the United States. That realization prompted me to start LC'S Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, in 2024. Our foundation is committed to transforming the pet care industry, both locally and globally, by providing comprehensive education and grooming services to pet owners, professionals, and communities in need.

Why We’re Making a Change

The well-being of pets is often overlooked in underserved communities where access to professional grooming and pet care education is limited. LC’S Foundation is driven by a passion to bridge this gap, offering:

Educational programs that teach pet owners proper care, nutrition, and grooming techniques.

Training for professional groomers to ensure high-quality grooming services that prioritize the safety, well-being, and comfort of each pet.

Grooming services at low or no cost to pets in underserved areas, especially where these services are scarce or unavailable.

In addition to serving communities in Detroit and across the United States, we have an international focus, particularly in Ghana and Nigeria. We aim to share our expertise with pet owners and groomers in these regions, ensuring that pets everywhere receive the care they deserve.

Our Goals and Vision

3. Establish Global Partnerships: Collaborate with local organizations in Ghana and Nigeria to train pet care professionals, provide grooming services, and raise the standard of pet care.

4. Build a Global Network of Pet Care Professionals: By training groomers and pet care providers, both in the U.S. and abroad, we aim to create a network of experts committed to improving the well-being of pets worldwide.
