Dear comrades and friends,
We request your support to help two of our member leaders, Abraham Rojas and David Davila, undergo difficult life situations. We appreciate your support through a donation (all amounts make a difference).
Abraham Rojas (38 years old): Abraham is a leader of our Cabricanecos Liberation Campaign, officially launched in May 2022 after our workers graduated from our Leadership Institute. The ongoing campaign started when Abraham and other workers organized at Best Super Cleaning / ISK Group (cleaning & demolition) due to workplace abuse and dangerous working conditions, including exposure to lead and harmful chemicals. Abraham started working in the company from November 2019 through March 2023. However, Abraham’s wife, Sideline Baten Ramirez, is still in Cabrican Guatemala, 39 years old, has five children, and was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. After undergoing treatment, she passed away after 18 months on March 18, 2023. Abraham returned to Guatemala to be with his family, whom he had not seen since he left 15 years ago. The family lives in Cabrican, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, and he is of indigenous descent. Abraham and his family need our community’s support.
David Davila (39 years old): David came from Colombia to US. in 2017. He started working in the kitchen and then switched to construction work in 2019. Unfortunately, he had a work accident in February 2021 where his back, hip, and right knee were severely injured. For this reason, David has been unable to work for about two years. He has three children and is awaiting hip surgery in April 2023. David also needs the support of our community to feed his family as he undergoes surgery.
We aim to raise $4,500 and provide the funds directly to Abraham and David.
We appreciate your support, and please share with your friends and family.
In solidarity,
