Join us, the Latino Civic Association of Tompkins County Inc. in making a difference in our community! The pandemic forced us to cancel in-person fundraising events like our annual holiday party — but also required us to do better and more.
We helped distribute healthy food to 300 migrant working families in Tompkins and Wayne Counties; provided scholarship support to local Latinx young people; organized Latinx focus groups as part of the City and County Reimagining Policing efforts; held virtual music, dance, and art events throughout Latinx Heritage Month; and kept NYS Assembly political candidates accountable to our community with a bilingual virtual town hall prior to the election.
We accomplished all of this, and more, despite the challenges of 2020. We face more challenges this year as tight local budgets mean cultural and other grants are less certain. Which is why we have launched a campaign to raise $7,000 by January 30th!
