Food pantries across the nation have seen an unprecedented rise in customers over the past few weeks. In Chicago, Lakeview Pantry reported over a 50% increase in new clients, as unemployment claims continue to soar with the COVID-19 outbreak and many individuals are experiencing food insecurity for the first time in their lives. Senator Sara Feigenholtz, Rep. Yoni Pizer, Rep. Ann Williams, and Alderman James Cappleman are raising money to benefit Lakeview Pantry. Any donation will help make an impact. Lakeview Pantry eliminates hunger in our community by: providing food to fill the basic need of hungry people, increasing the independence of their clients through self-help initiatives and other innovative programs, and raising awareness of hunger and poverty and working towards solutions to eliminate them.
