Lake Forest Park Rotary Charitable Foundation

It's that time of year! On August 2 & 3, I will be participating in a 32-hour race in Bellingham, WA - The Hamster Endurance Run! The goal is to get around Lake Padden (2.6 mile loop) as many times as possible within the 32 hours. I am bumping my goal this year, and am going to try for the FULL 100 miles - 39 laps around the lake, ack!

Look at how pretty the lake is! Did I mention I did my 1st 5k at this lake when I was about 8 years old? :-)

I was checking my previous fundraisers, and with your help, I have raised just around $10,000 to help my Rotary club, YAHOO! Please help me go BIG this year!

I'm raising money for my Rotary Club of Lake Forest Park. We fight food insecurity, help local schools, and participate in community service projects, both locally and internationally.

One of my favorite projects my club helps with is our Scholarship Committee, where we award high school seniors with scholarships for higher education. What an impact on future generations!

Rotary has been an important part of my life for the last 16 years. Please help me help my club continue our good work!

I'm raising money for my Rotary Club of Lake Forest Park. We fight food insecurity, help local schools, and participate in community service projects, both locally and internationally.

This year I served on the Scholarship Committee, where we awarded 10 high school seniors with scholarships for higher education. What an impact!

Rotary has been an important part of my life for the last 15 years. Please help me help my club continue our good work!

This March 25, I will participate for my 2nd time, in the 24-hour Pacific Rim Challenge in Longview, Washington. This is the same race I did last year, with a successful finish of 50 miles. Can you tell I'm smiling in my finish line pic? I had a great day with friends, doing loops on a 1-mile course. I enjoyed delicious food, including hot noodles, veggie burgers and cookies and treats. My friend Julie supported me and we got very lucky with a mostly sunny day. I also surpassed my fundraising goal, thanks to all of you.

This year, I will try to go a little bit LONGER! My goal is over 50 miles, maybe by a little, maybe by a lot, but just to make it FURTHER!

Rotary is important to me because we support local organizations helping our community fight food insecurity and homelessness. We support education, youth programs, and high school senior scholarships. We also partner with Rotary clubs worldwide to develop service projects. On March 19, I will participate in the Pacific Rim One Day Challenge held at Lake Sacajawea in Longview, WA. For 24 hours, you try to complete as many miles as possible on a 1 mile loop. I like loops! I'm not going to get lost, I don't need to carry survival gear, and there is the opportunity to run/walk with different people on each loop! My goal is to finish 50 miles (running and walking), which I haven't done since before having kids!
