Ladue Community Stem and Robotics Club

We are the Tenergizers, a First Lego League team from Saint Louis, who won our regional tournament and are now going to the Western Edge Invitational in Long Beach, California. We are fundraising to support our expenses - including flight tickets, hotel costs, registration and food.

Our project is about always on- a hidden energy cause that you might see on your electricity bills. Always on makes up an average of 25% of your bill, equating up to 19 billion dollars each year in the US. Learn more at:

Our solution is to create a modified energy guide label. Have you ever seen an energy guide label on an appliance? When you go buy an appliance, you might see a sticker on the appliance that has a few numbers. This is the yearly amount of energy used for this appliance, as well as the cost. Our modified energy guide label includes this information, as well as the yearly always-on cost so consumers can see how much always-on energy they might be using.

Help us voice our solution in California by donating to our trip! Thanks to your help, we may turn this idea into reality. We've talked to employees at the Federal Trade Commission and Ameren (MO's major energy supplier) about our label, and they've agreed that this solution is a low-cost but impactful solution that can is relatively easier to implement around the country.
