LAR is facing an extremely serious and expensive undertaking of a cat hoarding situation. There are over 40 animals in need of rescue and some require immediate medical attention. This includes setting spay/neuter appointments for most, getting them all SNAP tested and taking care of the fleas they all have. We obviously can't take them all in at once but have started with one litter of six kittens last night. 4 of the 6 are emaciated and anemic, as well as bad eye infections and infested with fleas. The worst one was taken in by a volunteer overnight in order to feed frequently. We are currently trying to locate the mother cat so the kittens can continue to nurse as they are too young to be weaned. Regardless, we are bottle feeding some of them for the time being. This will be a massive project and way more expensive than we can afford. ANY contribution the community and concerned animal lovers can do will allow us to rescue these poor souls and get them the help, love and homes they deserve.
