L Hollingworth School for the Talented and Gifted

     L. Hollingworth School for the Talented and Gifted is an inner city charter school that is comprised of a student population that includes 100% free and reduced. In addition, our school demographics consists of 47% hispanic, 17% African American, 29% White/non-hispanic, 19% ELL, and 14% of students with disabilities. Our school is in need of these funds to build a playground that is inviting and safe for our students. The above picture is what our playground currently looks like. Our goal is to secure funds by spring so that we can begin construction of our playground.
     This project would not only have a huge impact on our students but also our community. Currently, we have recess on the blacktop in our parking lot. The ability for our students to run, jump, and play in an enclosed play area surrounded by the security of a fence would mean the world to our students but also our staff. This is because our staff would be secure in the knowledge that our students have the ability play in a much safer play area! Help us continue to promote a "Spirt of Excellence and Expectations" by not only beautifying the space but also adding to the surrounding neighborhood.
     Our school community would be so thankful for this playground area. It would give adminstators, teachers, parents, and students even greater pride in our awesome school! It would help us to acheive our mission of guiding all students to develop character and maximize their full potential by empowering them to use their unique gifts and talents.
