Kyle Plush Answer The Call Foundation

Hi everyone!!

Darian and Annie here to inform you we will be running the 2023 Chicago Bank of America Half Marathon on June 4th!

We are very excited to be running and raising money in honor of Annie’s cousin, Kyle Plush, to carry on his memory and legacy. Kyle was extremely positive, loyal, loving, and unfailingly kind to everyone he came in contact with.

Kyle was 16 years old when his life was unexpectedly taken in a horrible tragedy. In 2018, he was in his minivan when the back seat flipped on top of him, trapping him under the seat and suffocating him. He tried calling 9-1-1 through SIRI since he couldn’t reach his cellphone. After two calls to 9-1-1 in desperation for help, the police and dispatchers weren’t able to locate Kyle due to outdated 9-1-1 technology and poor tracking abilities which resulted in his death.

Annie’s family created a positive from this tragedy and founded the Kyle Plush Answer the Call Foundation to raise awareness and money that focuses on creating solutions to improve the 9-1-1 system across the country. We owe it to Kyle to make sure these solutions are implemented to save lives when a loved one calls 9-1-1 in a life-threatening emergency. Your donations will help this foundation focus on supporting telecommunicators in the 9-1-1 industry by providing recognition and encouragement, influencing public policy focused on improving 9-1-1 technology, and providing scholarship opportunities so telecommunicators can continue to learn the latest in life-saving response and technology. Your impact will help the foundation live out its mission:

This foundation is very near and dear to our hearts. When Annie and her family were coping with this horrible loss, Darian was always there to comfort and support them in any way they needed. As we head into this half marathon challenge, we honor and channel Kyle’s memory and positive message.
