A person commits suicide every 12.8 minutes in the United States. On averge, there are 121 suicides per day. Each year, 44,193 Americans die by suicide.
But the effects of a teen suicide are not just reflected in the data. It’s in the funeral that you’re attending for your child, your sibling, your friend. It’s in the inability to go about your normal life without being reminded of what happened. It’s in the feeling that there was something that you could’ve done to prevent it, to give that person the chance to live a happy life.
Please donate to the Kyle Ambrogi Foundation, an organization started in the memory of Kyle Ambrogi, a Penn student from 2002-2005. The Kyle Ambrogi Foundation promotes education and awareness of depression in teens and young adults and promotes suicide prevention, while keeping Kyle’s memory alive through academic scholarships and athletic initiatives.
Ninety percent of all people who die by suicide have a diagnosable psychiatric disorder at the time of their death. 100% of suicides are preventable. Take action and raise awareness. By donating to the Kyle Ambrogi Foundation, you can help save lives.
