Remember the Cross 2019
Welcome to the Remember the Cross Campaign 2019!
I’m Brad Ficklin, pastor of Koinonia Church in Albuquerque, NM. For the past two years, we’ve been leasing 25 acres of land off historic Route 66 and developing it into a beautiful retreat space to serve as an outreach of our ministry. Our church has become an established place of impact and influence for the community, and we want to extend that influence through the Route 66 property.
We are creating a self-guided retreat experience through the pivotal stops of Jesus’ journey to the cross. Each location will give guests the opportunity to meditate, pray and reflect on their own personal walk with Christ. We’re calling it: Remember the Cross.
Serving the Church Body as a whole, Remember the Cross is a filling station for those who need to rest and remember why they’re choosing to live their life for Jesus. We know the journey isn’t always easy, but by remembering the cross, we’ll gain the endurance we need to continue running our race.
Up until this point, we’ve been tenants on the land...I’m honored to announce that we are officially purchasing the property in September 2019. We have already built three of the 10 reflection stops on the journey to Calvary but need help completing the remaining seven. We have made several improvements to the existing building, yet still need to build ADA facilities (...bathrooms that are compliant with the American Disabilities Act).
Locals and tourists have been drawn to the natural beauty of the land and are moved by the refreshing of the Holy Spirit. The doors are open and the testimonies of lives touched by this unique experience have begun…but we need help to continue building out the vision.
Here’s where we need your financial partnership. All contributions will fund the following projects:
-Purchasing the property
-Renovating the existing building into a sanctuary for worship
-Completing the reflection stops for spiritual renewal
Why $777,000? Seven is the number of "completion" in the Bible. We are believing that "He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:3-6)
This mission will serve individuals, churches, businesses and ministries looking to recharge their leaders and staff. Remember the Cross will be an outpost of Christ’s love and ministry in the heart of the Southwest.
I want to personally invite you to visit and see our land for yourself. Come retreat, return and revive your spirit through a personal encounter with Christ as you Remember the Cross.
Lastly, Koinonia Church is a 501-C3 non-profit entity and your donations will be eligible as a Charitable Contribution.
In His Service,
Pastor Brad
"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:3-6)
