Michon Haymer, who courageously battled breast cancer for three years, passed away on January 24, 2025. She was married to Scott Haymer for 22 years and was the devoted mother of Scotty ( KHS class of 2022) and Devon (KHS class of 2025). Michon was deeply involved in the Kirtland Schools community, serving as the PTA president and working as a special needs aide before taking on the role of elementary school librarian. Known for her infectious enthusiasm, she wholeheartedly supported all Kirtland students at sporting events, including baking hundreds of her signature chocolate chip cookies for the football team before every game. Michon exemplified kindness, demonstrating compassion and empathy to everyone around her. Her radiant smile and generous spirit made her truly extraordinary. In honor of her legacy, the Michon Haymer "Be Kind" Educational Scholarship will be awarded annually to a deserving student at Kirtland High School.
