Kirk of Dunedin Inc

Coastal Christian Church, formerly known as Kirk Church, has been a part of the Dunedin community for 55 years. Over the last 20 years, led by Pastor Jerry Rittenhouse, the church has grown in membership and community outreach. Many in the community know Coasal Christian Church for it's Thrift Store, Sweet Peas Preschool, and family events including the North Pole Experience and Pumpkin Patch.

Sadly, the church experienced a fire during the early morning hours on Wednesday, May 3rd. What started as a dumpster fire quickly spread to the sanctuary. Thankfully, the local firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but not before major damages to the church building occurred. Additionally, the water used to put the fire out drenched the interior, flooding the floors and baseboards, soaking the drywall, and ruining most of the technology.

To get the church back to a safe, working condition, the drywall and flooring needs to be replaced in the entire church including the preschool where the fire alarm sprinkler system went off. The sound booth equipment, screens, and projectors will also need to be replaced. The roof will need to be repaired too. The list has just begun and grows longer by the minute.

While the church has insurance (thankfully) and is working to get everything in order, it takes time. To help keep us afloat while we make the necessary repairs for reopening, we have set a goal of raising $40,000 to cover 3 months worth of revenue usually produced by the thrift store and preschool.

Our motto is that we are part of a small church with a big heart. We know that, through teamwork within our congregation, incredible leadership, support from our amazing community, and most importantly- faith in the Power and Goodness of God, we will prevail.
