The Kirk H. and JoAnn P. Gibson Family Foundation for Parkinson's Research

I am doing this because I love a challenge but, much more importantly, to raise money for the Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinson’s. Over the past two years, my friendship with Kirk has awakened me to the massive challenges that this disease presents to those who have Parkinson’s disease (PD), to their families and to their carers. Gibby’s own fight has personally inspired me to get involved and help out.

I have been privileged to join the team at the Foundation to help drive Kirk’s vision to provide hope, help and inspiration to those with PD. To this end, I aim to raise $100,000 by completing the marathon, no matter how long it takes me!

I know you all have choices amongst many worthy causes, and I hope you can get behind this one as your donations will support activity-based programs to improve the quality of life for those with Parkinson’s disease.

We will be running in this 2022 event for the second year in a row and we are happy to be involved with this foundation! Yes I am going to try and run 17 miles in 24 hours…and I really need you to cheer me on and pray for my knees to hold out! Tim is going to participate in the 5K and in the last year he has had a hip replacement and a deep brain stimulator implanted in his brain. He is so brave and so committed to fighting this fight and I am happy to stand beside him and do whatever I can to raise awareness and funds!
