Kindling Smiles

Hello dear friends.

My name is Shakeel Rehman, I am the founder of Kindling Smiles (A Tracy, California based nonprofit organization) and Shaheed Haroon Academy (A school for underprivileged street children, refugees and IDP’s in Peshawar, Pakistan).

One of our students Umar Kaiptan, age 9 lost his arm in a freak motor vehicular accident back in 2018. In Karachi, Pakistan there is a company called Bioniks (http://www.bioniks.org), who specializes in Bionic Prosthetic arm with fully functional hands that are "Thought Control" technology. This company is the second of its kind in the world beside UK.

Naturally, everything comes at a cost, such an arm cost $12,000 (The use of the funds includes The Bionic arm, travelling cost from Peshawar to Karachi, 1 month of training on how to use the arm and of course the stay in Karachi and the food during that period). We need your help in raising the funds for this child’s arm. It will change his life completely. All our students are Zakat and charity dependent, and Umar is no exception.
