Kidneys for Kids Embarks on 2025 Driving for Life Nationwide Tour
Kidneys for Kids, the nation's leading kidney organization dedicated to matching adult living kidney donors with children in need, is traveling to 31 cities this summer as part of its "Driving for Life" Nationwide Mission. The goal: to recruit lifesaving donors and raise awareness through powerful storytelling and media outreach.
Kidneys for Kids needs your immediate support to complete this mission, and the urgent need for living kidney donors to pediatric patients. As a living donor himself, Brian Martindale, Executive Director of Kidneys for Kids, is passionate about connecting children in need with suitable donors, while also providing financial support to donor families.
Martindale is honored to be a finalist for the new Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) national board of directors, reinforcing Kidneys for Kids’ commitment to national transplant advocacy. This year, the organization also became a proud member of OPTN, furthering its role in shaping donor-recipient connections across the country.
About the Driving for Life Nationwide Mission
Since its inception in 2022, Driving for Life has matched 13 living kidney donors with children, covering over 22,000 miles in the process. In 2025, the tour expands to 31 cities and 12,000 miles, with a long-term goal of securing 100 donors for 100 children by 2029—continuing these nationwide trips for the next five summers.
At every stop, Kidneys for Kids coordinates TV interviews for families whose children are waiting for a transplant, amplifying their stories and inspiring action.
The Good Karma TV Network: Amplifying the Voices of Families in Need
On February 3rd, Kidneys for Kids launched The Good Karma TV Network, a streaming platform sharing firsthand stories from families awaiting living donors. Its flagship show, Drive for Life, features live interviews, community engagement, and educational insights, currently streaming on Roku.
This summer, the Driving for Life nationwide journey will be broadcast live on Roku, in an HD format, bringing audiences along for the ride. Each stop will be filmed live, then compiled into 30- and 60-minute episodes as part of an ongoing real reality series aimed at mobilizing more living donors to help the nearly 2,000 children waiting for a kidney transplant.
Help us reach our goal of $5000, to complete this momentous undertaking for kids!
