After keeping our local history alive and serving our community for the last 39 years, KFHC is facing our biggest challenge ever! On March 1st we entered the center for a Board Meeting, to our shock and dismay we were greeted with the sound of running water pouring from the ceiling, a pipe had burst! The damage was immediately obvious; there was standing water as well as extensive destruction to not only the ceilings and walls but also to our beautiful displays and contents! We have spent almost every minute since then with the clean-up crew and insurance claims, it is a long and arduous process, and it is only the beginning! We are an all-volunteer organization, everyone is hard at work trying to salvage as many artifacts as possible, our goal is to come back even stronger in the end! Meanwhile, we cannot succeed on our own. We are asking you, our community supporters to help! Operating expenses continue to go on whether we are open for business or not. With our upcoming season approaching, we will not be able to open our doors! The funds we generate during our annual season pay the bills for the entire year!
