A Family’s Act of Kindness: Help Us Save Mocha, the Dog They Rescued

They aren’t a rescue group. They’re just a caring couple who found Mocha, this little dog, in the park in horrific shape. They didn’t turn away. They didn’t just walk past. They scooped him up and rushed him straight to us, even though it was after closing.

Mocha’s muzzle had been tied so tightly at some point that it literally caused part of his face to hang. The initial emergency care, including surgery, has already cost $1,200. On top of that, it’s $120 a day just to continue the care he needs. This family put everything on their credit cards to save a dog they just met.

They’re not doing this because they have to. They’re doing it because they have big hearts. And right now, they need a community that can help them cover these costs.

Kennel Eviction Rescue is a non profit organization dedicated to humane housing for displaced, neglected, and abandoned animals in southern California. We started this mission when 32 dogs were abandoned by a different organization and were going to be sent to the shelter. We provide training, vetting, and all necessary care to our animals and offer additional support to fosters and adopters if needed. This week a group mass surrendered 9 dogs and their associated parties attempted to surrender more. With 9 more dogs, 2 of which need professional rehabilitation, we urgently need help raising funds to get everyone the care they need so desperately. In addition everyone's vetting cost so far, future expenses, supplies for fosters, etc. April and Bubba alone have an expected rehabilitation cost of 3k to 6k each. April and Bubbas program per 6 weeks is $2450 and were expecting April to need 12 weeks and Bubba 6.

Simparica per dog is $22/dose

Their Rabies vaccines were $12/dog

They're daily care in facility until we can find homes is $10/dog equating to $90/day. $455/week
