I have a birthday coming up on April 16th, and this year, I don't want you to buy me a drink - I want you to SAVE A SEAT FOR ME!
I'm asking my friends to donate toward the purchase of one new seat in the historic Keith Albee Theatre. The seats in the Keith Albee have been in place since the theatre opened in 1928 and, as you can imagine, replacing them is expensive. I hope to raise $1500 to replace a seat in the Orchestra Level or Loge Boxes.
The Keith Albee theatre is an icon in Huntington and one of our city's most precious, untapped resources. You will hear more from me soon about fundraising for this historic building, but I figure asking you to SAVE A SEAT FOR ME is a great start. I want to see this Jewel City gem refurbished to its original splendor and take its place as the cultural hub for performing arts in Huntington, just as it was when it opened nearly a hundred years ago. What a magical, extraordinary space we have here in the heart of our City.
I know that GoFundMe takes a small fee from each donation, but in my opinion, it's still the best crowdfunding platform out there for access and ease of use.
