Who We Are

We are a team of four students at the University of Tennessee who are passionate about making a positive impact in our community. As young adults, we recognize the importance of giving back and working to improve the world around us. That’s why we’ve partnered with Keep Knoxville Beautiful, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering Knox County communities through beautification and environmental conservation.

For over 40 years, KKB has led efforts to clean up litter, promote recycling, and overall create a greener and more vibrant Knoxville. Each year, with the help of thousands of volunteers, they remove over 116,000 pounds of litter from roads, parks, and waterways, manage Adopt-A-Road programs, and provide essential recycling resources. They also lead public education initiatives and organize community beautification projects, including tree plantings and mural installations to make Knoxville a cleaner, more beautiful city.

What We Need

What we need for this project includes different resources for clean-ups across Knoxville. We are working to raise over $1000 in order to provide supplies for volunteers in the organization. Clean-up resources include trash bags ($15 per bag), gloves ($10 per box), masks ($1 for 25 count), vests ($8 per vest), pickup and reach tool ($10 pick tool). This allows the organization to gather enough supplies to support its volunteer work across the city. With enough donations, we can help volunteers and bring a major impact while showcasing what it means to help keep Knoxville beautiful for years to come.

These supplies are crucial to ensuring volunteers can work more efficiently and help the process of cleaning the local environment. Not only will we be able to continue to expand these efforts, but also we’ll be able to foster a sense of community pride. Keeping Knoxville clean and beautiful requires everyone's involvement, and with your support, we can make a lasting impact that will benefit future generations and demonstrate the power of community action. Every contribution, big or small, helps us reach our goal and makes a tangible difference in the fight for a cleaner, greener Knoxville.

How It Helps

Keeping Knoxville beautiful is something that will enrich most everyone’s lives within the community. When our city has more clean and beautiful outdoor areas, community members have more places that are appealing to visit. More appealing places to visit helps tourism within the community as well. This can have positive effects on small businesses like restaurants and locally owned stores. Keeping Knoxville Beautiful is helping the community, and you can help by supporting our campaign.

How Else You Can Help

There are many ways to help our campaign without having to donate any money. Starting off, simply sharing the campaign page and spreading the word to others would be super beneficial. Volunteering to help work certain cleanups with Keep Knoxville Beautiful is helpful to the community as well. Another idea could simply be following Keep Knoxville Beautiful’s social media to engage with our community. Any interaction helps and makes more of a difference than you think!

We are A Cleaner Knoxville Together, a group of University of Tennessee students dedicated to supporting Keep Knoxville Beautiful. This organization, located in South Knoxville, is a non-profit organization that primarily supports operations to keep Knoxville’s green areas pristine. We are working with this organization because we are deeply inspired by their mission to clean up and preserve nature for the people of Knoxville and want to help provide them with the resources they need to continue their noble mission.

Keep Knoxville Beautiful has served Knoxville since 1978 and currently has 501(c)(3) non-profit status. While their original goal was to clean up Knoxville for the 1982 World’s Fair, they have maintained preventive operations since their foundation. Ultimately, their mission is to preserve and maintain the beauty of Knoxville for generations to come. Whether it is beautification projects, Adopt a Road programs, graffiti removal, or other contracted cleanups, they are dedicated to inspiring and empowering others to take pride in Knoxville, roll up their sleeves, and lend a hand.

We have a goal to raise $1000 so Keep Knoxville Beautiful can keep Knoxville beautiful. Examples of what these donations go towards include community beautification, volunteer cleanups, adopting a road, contracted cleanup, graffiti removal, and planting trees. Keep Knoxville Beautiful has an ultimate goal of keeping the area cleaner, greener, and more beautiful. Their many programs need funding to do what they do. Donations contribute to all the different examples of what they do to keep Knoxville clean.

Keep Knoxville Beautiful's received donations go towards making different things happen around Knoxville. There are many lines of work they do and to do them they use the donation money to fund it. With the funds raised they are able to buy supplies needed to do things like beautification, cleanups, adopt a road, graffiti removal, and planting trees. Through donating to the organization you can ensure that the nature around Knoxville is kept to a standard. Meaning while you drive around or walk around this city the amenities will be up to keep and look nice and welcoming. However, donating to the organization will help them continue with their beautiful goal of cleaning up the city and keeping it in good shape. Without funds raised from donations, they are not able to have all these events where people come out and volunteer their time to use the supplies they get to clean up.

Keep Knoxville Beautiful works to inspire the community to make an effort to clean up Knoxville's highways. For more than 40 years the organization has served as an essential part of the community by hosting trash cleanups and environmental initiatives. They have held over 494 cleanups. In those cleanups, they picked up over 123,205 pounds of trash. Not only are they helping clean up the community but they were able to get over 7,149 local volunteers involved which is very positive morale for the community. Their mission statement is “to inspire and empower Knox County communities to improve their quality of life through beautification and environmental stewardship. ” This statement shows that they put the community first and strive to better those around them. Not only are they cleaning but they are also creating a tight-knit community where they have created 121 Adopt a Road groups, 16 beautification projects, and have made 2 murals for the community to share as a whole.
