Wayne State's Delta Nu Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha is excited to announce our Fall 2024 Philanthropy Week to support The Judson Center, an organization that provides a range of support services to individuals and families who battle the challenge of autism, primarily operating in Michigan. Judson Center was founded in 1924, and this year marks a century of strong support for those impacted by autism. Judson Center collaborates with schools, local governments, and communities to create a supportive network for the citizens it serves. 100% of our donations will directly fund this organization, and we encourage others to join in fighting autism through monetary contributions or donating new toys, sports items, and other household materials. If interested in donating items, please contact Rahk Dearing at (248)-504-7359.
The Delta Nu chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha was founded here at Wayne State in 1950 and has been a major influence on the university and its student body for seven decades. Throughout its lifetime, the Delta Nu chapter has raised over one million dollars for philanthropic causes and performed over one hundred thousand hours of community service for the local community. Delta Nu has also racked up an impressive collection of awards carrying national recognition. The chapter has been awarded the Robert Adger Smythe award, the highest honor a Pike chapter can receive, a total of 22 times. This consistent excellence has placed the Delta Nu chapter amongst very few others with its designation as a Dynasty Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha, the highest one can be. In 2015, Delta Nu won the NIC Chapter Award of Distinction, an award given to only the top 5 chapters of all fraternities nationwide. Locally, the 2015 year was also capped off with a Spirit of Detroit award from the city council for our work within the community. Most recently the Delta Nu chapter won 6 awards for the 2021-2022 academic year, including the coveted Smythe award only earned by 10% of chapters nationally. We earned 5 additional awards for philanthropy, scholarship, alumni relations, excellence and involvement with the national fraternity.
Pike continues to be committed to being scholars, leaders, athletes, and gentleman of our communities each day.
