We are a group of students in a summer camp…

But this isn’t just any camp.

Here, we’re learning about something that goes beyond books and classrooms.

We’re learning about the power of giving back.

And today, we want to give our hearts to those who can’t speak for themselves —

To the abandoned.

To the forgotten.

To the ones who wag their tails even after being hurt.

To the animals who still hope someone will care.

We want to help Joy and Love Rescue because they give these animals something we all need:

A second chance.

A warm hand.

A safe place to heal.

These pets don’t have a voice.

But today — we are their voice.

Their defenders.

Their hope.

Who Remembers Bruce?

Bruce is the paralyzed dog who was found as a stray and picked up by Miami-Dade Animal Services in November 2024. He was rescued just hours before he was scheduled to be euthanized. At the time, Bruce had paralysis in his hind legs, and he was treated at Town and Country Animal Hospital and SEVN (SouthEastern Veterinary Neurologist). The recommendations were for an MRI and potentially surgery. But after 3-4 months of complete rest, Bruce defied the odds—his legs started to improve, and now, he can walk and even run!

Bruce’s recovery journey hasn’t been easy. While we don’t know for sure if he was hit by a car or mistreated by a previous owner, his healing has been nothing short of remarkable. His foster moms have played a huge role in his recovery, providing laser therapy and following the neurologist’s advice. Thanks to their unwavering dedication, Bruce has made tremendous strides.

Bruce is now under the care of Joy and Love Rescue, a team that has supported us from the very beginning. Unfortunately, during the critical phase of his recovery, when Bruce needed medical support the most, the previous rescue tried to take advantage of his situation when he desperately needed financial help to continue his care.

At this point, we’re asking for your help to give Bruce the best future possible. He is a young boy full of love and energy. Some of that energy is directed into behavioral issues, like biting, but it’s important to understand that this is not his fault—he doesn’t even know how to walk on a leash yet. Imagine how difficult it must be for him after being confined to a crate for so long, especially after not being able to use his legs. We can only imagine what his previous life was like, but one thing is for sure: he means well, and he just needs help channeling his energy.

Bruce is in desperate need of training to ensure he’s fully prepared to find a loving family that can provide the care and attention he deserves. His foster moms have already given so much of their own time, resources, and love during his recovery, but they want to give this sweet boy the fighting chance he deserves. He has come so far already, and with your support, we know he can go even further.

Why I’m Organizing This Fundraiser

I am just a volunteer who has seen firsthand the incredible work this rescue does. They’ve stepped in to help me with several difficult cases in the past, and their dedication to animals in need is truly inspiring. I’m organizing this fundraiser because I know how much they need our help right now to continue saving lives. This rescue goes above and beyond, even when their resources are stretched thin, and I want to do everything I can to support them.

This amazing rescue group has dedicated their lives to saving the most vulnerable animals, even with limited resources. Right now, they are caring for 12 dogs in boarding, many of whom were saved from euthanasia lists or severe behavioral challenges. These are the tough cases that others won’t take—but this compassionate team always says “YES!” to animals in desperate need.

However, the cost of saving lives is overwhelming. They are currently facing:

• $2,000 per week in boarding expenses.

• Nearly $20,000 in veterinary bills, covering critical treatments for these animals.

In addition to donations, we desperately need:

• Foster parents to temporarily care for these animals and provide them with love and stability.

• Sponsors to help cover the costs of individual animals.

• Donations of food and supplies to keep these dogs happy and healthy.

Hello, my name is Amanda Wadiak and I am the foster home for HUNTER . With the help of Joy & Love rescue we were able to save HUNTER from a premature death.

— Meet HUNTER .

HUNTER is a wonderful 7 years old dog. In the house he is a real good boy . He is very affectionate , listens and follows all commands properly , he is NOT destructive and VERY calm. He loves scratches especially on his ears. He won’t enter the bedroom if you want privacy and he will go sleep peacefully in his bed. He doesn’t need to be told commands twice as he understands the first time.

This pup was put on a deadline since he does have a past with other animals . He is very prey driven and is reactive to other dogs and cats. He was unfortunately placed with the wrong adopters and was returned to the facility. He would benefit from a proper training and could be rehabilitated to socialisation with other animals with help.

Today we are seeking your donations to be able to provide Hunter with the proper training that is needed (specialized for behavioural changement) so he can find his forever home and family and live a peaceful life. ❤️
