Jah Works, Inc.

Jah Works, Inc., a U.S.-based nonprofit organization, partners with the Bluefields Basic School, in Bluefields, Jamaica to bring Quality Education to its students, which is the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal #4 (read more here).

It's back-to-school time in Bluefields Bay, Jamaica! After being stuck at home for the last year and a half, Maurice, and the other three, four, and five-year-old students in this rural, close-knit community couldn't be more excited to get back to the Bluefields Basic School, play with their friends, and most importantly—LEARN!

The Bluefields Basic School can't reopen in September without hiring two additional teachers to ensure every child has access to a high-quality education. While there were just 24 remote learners during the pandemic, the School is well on it’s way to register 60 students who cannot wait to start in-person learning this year! By hiring more teachers, more students can have the incredible early childhood education that the Bluefields Basic School provides.

With your help, we can fund the salaries of two additional teachers for their first year. Then, the Jamaican Government will pay the salaries for one of them for years to come, creating long-term sustainability.

That's a need of just $20,000 USD, to guarantee Bluefields' youngest have access to the high-quality, individualized learning they need and deserve, not only in the upcoming school year, but into the future.
