Jack Martin Fund Inc.

December 11th 2012 changed my life forever. I went from golfer to endurance athlete in the blink of an 7 hour brain surgery. Since that date I have run countless half marathons, a full marathon, 5 half Ironmans, and 2 Full Ironmans all the while raising money for pediatric oncology at Mount Sinai Hospital. When I turned 50 I ran a 50 mile challenge, but this time I had the privilege and honor of doing it with my son Jordan. Last year we completed the Long Island Challenge to raise funds. This year we have raised the bar, after all when your 15 year old son comes to you and wants to not only spend time with you, but to raise money for charity at the same time…..how can you say no? You can’t! So, on March 16th we will complete the Eastern States run, a 20 mile race that begins in Maine and finishes in New Hampshire. Once again we will put in the work on the roads,but need your help to support the Jack Martin Fund and pediatric oncology. www.jackmartinfund.org

12/11/12, 7/24/17 and August 2019 three dates that would change the course of my life. The first 2 were the dates of my brain surgeries and the 3rd was the date of my cerebral aneurysm diagnosis. On 7/24/22 on the 5 year anniversary of my second brain surgery I completed Ironman Lake Placid, my second in 2 years. As you can imagine, trying to find something to top that experience both physically and emotionally was challenging, but last year for my 50th birthday Jordan and I ran 50 miles over a 48 hour period. This year Jordan and I will complete the Long Island Challenge running a 5k, 10k and the a Half Marathon from May 3rd through May 5th. Once again we will complete this challenge together raising money for The Jack Martin Fund to support Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

On the weekend of March 3, 2023 I will tackle the Goggins Challenge which is also known as the 4x4x48. The premise is that you run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours! Yup, 48 miles in 48 hours. The truly special part of this journey is that I get to share every single step with Jordan! That’s right we will complete this challenge together raising money for The Jack Martin Fund to support Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
