OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE
Dear Friends and Supporters,
As Founder of ITAVFoundation, I’m writing to you with a heavy heart and an urgent call for support. My beloved home country, Jamaica, has been devastated by Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm that brought catastrophic winds, flooding, and widespread destruction across the island. Thousands of families have lost their homes, entire communities remain without power, and many mothers and children are in desperate need of food, shelter, and care.
If you’ve ever traveled to Jamaica, you’ve experienced the warmth of its people, the beauty of the island, and the unshakable spirit that makes it so special. That same spirit — one built on love, resilience, and community — is now being tested in unimaginable ways. Hurricane season is always frightening because you never truly know what will happen but this has been one of the worst hurricanes to ever hit Jamaica
In moments like this, we are reminded that “It Takes A Village” is more than a name — it’s a call to action. Our brothers and sisters in Jamaica need us to stand beside them, to help rebuild what has been lost, and to remind them that they are not alone.
We are collecting essential supplies such as food, clean water, hygiene kits, and maternal care packages, and working with trusted community partners to ensure relief reaches the most affected families quickly and safely.
Every dollar you give goes directly toward community relief and maternal support initiatives on the ground in Jamaica.
Your contributions will help us:
- Provide emergency food, clean water, and hygiene kits
- Deliver maternal and family care packages (baby supplies, diapers, formula, postpartum kits)
You can support our efforts in several ways:
- Donate through our GoFundMe Relief Fund or Paypal
- Purchase items directly from our Amazon Relief List
- You can donate funds directly to Jamaica at www.supportjamaica.gov.jm
- Share this message to raise awareness and extend our reach
Every contribution makes a difference — no matter how small.
Together, we can help families in Jamaica recover with dignity and hope.
With gratitude,
Trudean Haye
