Coach Bill Parry Coronado Lacrosse Memorial

No better tribute can be made to honor the memory of Coronado Lacrosse Legend Coach Bill Parry than to ensure the health and growth of Coronado Middle School and High School Boys' and Girls' Lacrosse with a donation to Islander Sports Foundation.

Bill Parry passed away October 31, 2024. His spirit remains alive and robust on the athletic fields of Coronado. For most of his adult life, Bill volunteered and coached Coronado youth in Pee Wee Football, soccer, CMS and CHS football, and lacrosse - but his passion was for lacrosse. Coaching for over 37 seasons, Bill and his relentless team of lacrosse-passionate devotees fought for and won CIF sanctioning for HS Boys' and Girls' Lacrosse in California, thus ensuring thousands of kids' lives would be enriched by "the sacred stick" and the playing of this ancient sport he loved so well.

My name is Jessica and I am originally from the SF Bay Area (go Giants!) Throughout my entire childhood and growing up, I have always been an avid sports player- soccer, softball, volleyball, track and field… I tried everything! Sometimes I hated it— but other times I really loved it. And I loved all of the friends I made along the way. It taught me to be a team player and to never give up. It also taught me some good exercise and nutrition habits I carry with me to this day. So all of this to say- sports are SO important! They may not be to everyone, but at least having the opportunity to choose is. Thank you all and I hope you donate to support the Islander Sports Foundation!!

About the Charity:

The purpose of the Islander Sports Foundation is so that No Coronado student will ever be denied a chance to participate in a sport because of financial need.

There are over 40 High School and Middle School youth sports programs and like most athletic programs in the state of California, school district athletic budgets have been drastically cut in recent years -Coronado's annual sports budget is only $13k! Additionally, As with many San Diego-area middle schools, the school district does not allocate ANY funds for extracurricular middle school sports.

The Islander Sports Foundation covers 75% of all actual expenses covering new uniforms, referees and coaches, and tournament fees.

ISF is a Coronado based 501 [c] [3] Charity. The mission of ISF is to sustain and fund all Coronado School sports programs. ISF was founded as a booster club 20 years ago and sustains itself today because of Coronado families, businesses, and community support.
