Islamic Leadership Institute

Alhamedellah, ILIA has done so much for the youth. The great thing about this organization is that is is run by youth. The folks at ILIA are really innovative and cutting edge. ILIA was the first Islamic non-profit in the United States to teach leadership. The first organization to author non-fiction books on leadership for teens. The coined many things, like Youth Project Management, EmpowerOne and ILIA Internships are very different. Below is what the youth council accomplished during the first quarter of 2018.



We have some big ambitions this year. We are quadrupling our interns from 15 in 2018 to 45 in 2019, so far we have a little over 20 interns at ILIA doing some very important work such as:

Advocacy on Capital Hill for Human Right in Palestine, China and Burma
Diversity and Inclusion in Curriculum at Howard County School System
Jude Jawhar Memorial Scholarship for Nursing Students
Non-Profit Management Training for 40 High School and College Leaders
Islamic Tips Portal for Young Teens
Islamic Business and Entrepreneurship Series Training for 40 High School Youth

More information about Islamic Leadership Institute: A non-profit 501c(3) educational and research organization founded in the State of Maryland in 2009/1430 to promote leadership development, education and research based on Islamic values and principles, through personalized experiential learning leadership programs. The organization serves both youth ages 9-25 and adults over 25 through leadership certification, coaching & mentoring, community capacity building and internships. The organization services are open to all individuals regardless of their faith

19-year old Ibrahim was assaulted in the fall of 2017. He was rushed to his local hospital, where he was provided first intervention treatment and it was determined that the assault resulted in a broken nose.


Brother Ibrahim was taken by ambulance to a large medical center in Baltimore City, where further diagnosis was performed and was determined that medical surgery is needed to correct the septum to allow brother Ibrahim to breath normally.  The surgery was expected to be performed in the fall of 2017 a couple of weeks after diagnosis.


Since fall 2017 Ibrahim has been battling red tape, insurance company denials and has been unable to get his surgery scheduled. With difficulty breathing Ibrahim's daily activities including sleeping have become more challenging.


After more than six months of wait inshaa Allah brother Ibrahim receives his surgery early March 2018. He has been able to resolve some of the issues with the insurance and locate a different medical center and surgeon. There is an out of pocket portion that he needs our help to cover.


Ibrahim has been with ILIA since he was 11, let's all pitch in $30 dollars to help him out inshaa Allah breath normally and be able to resume his daily college and work activities.
