Support ISKCON of Charlotte's Temple project
ISKCON of Charlotte (IOC) is a dynamic and flourishing center affiliated to global ISKCON, founded in 1966 in New York City by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada. It is a non-profit 501(c)(3) spiritual organization operating in Charlotte, NC since 2017. IOC is dedicated to spiritual, physical, and mental well-being through the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam and engaged in propagating Krishna (God) consciousness.
ISKCON of Charlotte is building a Temple (place of worship) in Charlotte, NC and towards that purchased a 9.5 acre land in 13527, Idlewild Road, Matthews, NC 28105 (1.5 miles from exit 49 in I-485 and 2 miles from Matthews Costco) and working on securing approvals. This temple will consist of a worship hall and a modern kitchen to support our programs and food distribution Food for Life program. This will make a difference in our community in Charlotte, NC and will be a valuable gift and heritage for generations to come.
ISKCON of Charlotte is currently conducting following key programs in rented facilities/homes/public places:
- Weekly Sunday Love Feast Program
- Participate in Community Events like VegFest, Strawberry Festival etc
- Participate in Thanksgiving Parade, St Patrick's Day and MLK Parade in partnership with Charlotte City
- Spiritual training programs for adults (Bhakti Vrkshas) across Charlotte
- Celebrate major festivals like Janmastami, Ram Navami, Govardhan Puja - Diwali etc
- Distribution of Spiritual and Bhakti Yoga books
- Food for Life - Feeding to homeless shelters and larger community
- Kids Sloka Classes for buidling spiritual foundation for next generation
- Seminars & Workshops on Meditation and Bhakti Yoga with Eminent speakers from around the world
- Training Youth on Meditation, Kirtan (Devotional Music) and spirtual wellbeing
