Support Isaiah 58:7 mission food pantry:Every Dollar Counts
Greetings! , We at Isaiah 58:7 food pantry are looking for support from the community and beyond.
We are a non-profit 501c3 dedicated to uplifting our community members that are struggling with food insecurities. We service Dallas county in Missouri. The community faces many challenges with a *Per Capita income of just above $27,000 which is 2/3 the state average, and 3/5 the federal. Dallas county faces a *21.4% below the poverty line and 35% of children in the county living in poverty.
The average commute time to work is *35 minutes which further reduces the amount of money families have for food due to transportation expenses. Only *14.8% of Dallas county residents have a graduated college, which this reduces the financial opportunities as well.
These factors, combined with a lack of local donations from businesses makes it almost impossible to reach our goal to be a self sustaining pantry.
Unique to our pantry is another program we have is our "Kids Pantry". Going into our 3rd year, with much success. This kids pantry is in our local schools ,in our county ,providing the kids in need the ability to grab something they can take home to eat. These school kids pantries help children become better able to concentrate on education instead of their hunger.
We need your help. We are the only continuing weekly pantry in the county. We also provide emergency help as they arise. Other pantries have closed. The USDA Government distribution center do not provide the much needed weekly assistance to be able to live without choosing between food or gas, food or utilities, and food or rent.
Your donations will directly support Isaiah 58:7 mission. We are strictly volunteer only and no paid staff. We are trying to raise enough money to buy our building. The owners that have donated the use of the building since it's opening now are looking to sell. They are willing to give us their best price, under market value, of only $100,000, This is money we need to raise from local community members and those outside our community. By owning our building, we will qualify for assistance, grants, and other funding to help us with things like new shelving, food truck donations, additional refrigeration and freezer space, and much more. By owning our building we can make sure no family, no child, has to go to bed or school feeling the pains of hunger in Dallas County.
Our work is vital in addressing the needs of those who are struggling, and with your help, we can help address this . We welcome one time, and ongoing donors.
Your donations will directly support Isaiah 58-7's mission by:
- By donating, a portion of $100,000 will obtain the ownership of our building to be able to apply for much needed grants such as freezers, coolers, food and other equipment needed to run properly, that require us to own the building.
- By owning the building, this would secure a permanent location for the residents to be able to go to receive assistance for food insecurities and other important resources available to them to better their future.
- By donating, a small portion of $5,000 will go for office equipment such as a computer, printer and access to the internet.
- $10,000 would go to the pantry funds to keep the Kids Pantry and main pantry financially set for a couple years.
Every contribution, no matter how small, can help transform lives. Please join us in supporting this incredible work, and together you can bring hope and healing to those who need it most. Thank you for your generosity! God Bless!
