EMERGENCY FUNDRAISER: Horse Rescue in Immediate Need
Want to join me in making a difference? I am raising money to benefit Integrity’s Haven Equine (Animal) Rescue Centre. My name is Michelle Pope and I care deeply about this Rescue and the integrity with which it operates. TAX RECEIPTS issued.
We are asking for your help. We are the ONLY horse Rescue in Nova Scotia. Horses, donkeys, zonkeys, cats and dogs are depending on us right now. The primary source of our funding was suddenly withdrawn due to a down turn in the textile recycling sector. We are actively pursuing ways to pivot and to remain viable for the long term, but need emergency help to provide care for the next 6 months. We currently have 17 equines, 4 cats and 3 dogs.
Every horse deserves safety, care, and a chance to live free from pain, fear and neglect. At IHERC we are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and if appropriate rehoming animals. We take in equines who are severely underweight, in pain, and in urgent need of medical and hoof care. We also have cats and dogs in our care who have been abandoned or surrendered.
We say, yes, when there is nowhere else for these animals to go - but emergency Rescues have overwhelming costs.
Our Goal: $30,000
Raising $30,000 will:
- provide six months of hay, grain, supplements, and daily care for the animals currently at our Rescue.
- cover urgent and ongoing Veterinary care, medications, and farrier expenses.
- contribute to Herd Health Day this June which will ensure every horse receives vaccinations, dental care and wellness exams with our Veterinary Team.
Herd Health Day is essential. It allows us to proactively protect every equine in our care - preventative care can mean the difference between stability and crisis.
Your donation today will directly fund life saving care. Time is critical. Raising $30,000 will secure the next 6 months of care and hope for the herd.
If you can donate - thank you!
If you can Share - thank you!
If you can do both - you are helping us secure a stable future for every animal in our care!
Meet Rain, the Tancook Pony:
When Rain arrived on the ferry from Big Tancook Island in November of 2025, she was shockingly thin and struggling to breathe. She needed emergency Veterinary care, medications, specialized nutrition and farrier work. Now she has improved immensely, and has a beautiful sparkle in her eyes which reminds us of why we do this work.
Meet Odie, our magical unicorn:
Odie is a Medicine Hat Paint, who is white with blue eyes. When he arrived 9 years ago his prognosis was dire. He recovered with the help of the UPEI Veterinary College Team and Angela’s devoted care. There is something that is pure magic about this boy’s gentle nature, intuitiveness and playful soul.
Meet Pearl a former racer:
Pearl was rescued from a meat buyer by a kind soul from PEI. She had sustained a lower leg injury and was very thin. Ultimately, Pearl was surrendered to our Rescue to live her best retired life as lead mare of the herd.
