Humane Colorado

At the shelter, there are close to 1000 animals and during my short volunteer time there, I have cleaned kennels and washed dishes. You can not imagine how many bowls need washing with every cat and dog needing two bowls (food & water). While no one is complaining about washing bowls by hand everyday, The Dumb Friends is required to sterilize each bowl using a Hot Water Sanitizing machine. The Dumb Friends League has  only ONE of these Hot Water Sanitizing machines and it has become a big bottle neck to getting those bowls washed and prepared for the next meal. The machine can only hold so many at a time.

This is where you will hopefully come in. I'd like to secure a second  machine for them. The cost is $4,471.00. Would you be willing to help fund the cost of the machine and ensure these puppies and kitttys are regularly fed as they await their forever homes. I hope you'll find this a great was to make a difference and give back to the community of Denver where you live. These animals have the bestt hearts and I hope you will open yours today too.

Hillexia Presents: Press Paws 2025

Welcome back to another awesome year with Press Paws! We are ready to return this year once again to partner with the Humane Colorado and raise money!

What is Press Paws?

Press Paws is a Denver-based charity that airs live on the platform, Twitch.tv, specifically, on the channel, twitch.tv/hillexia. This charity is made of many gaming friends who want bring their communities and friends together to play video games while also bringing awareness to local shelters, specifically, Humane Colorado, and raise money for whatever resources they need! We have viewers and supporters from all over the country and as of last year, supported from outside the U.S. as well!

We look forward to another great year and supporting our friends over at Humane Colorado!

Jessica was a special, compassionate soul who lived her spirited life to the fullest.

She loved Hip-Hop, Body Art, studying the Bhagavad Gita and had an obsession with VHS movie collections. Jessica had a unique and keen sense of fashion; bringing the fedora back with style. She was a gifted artist in all mediums. Jessica's most recent passion was making jewelry for her business, Fates Creations.

Jessica believed that everyone deserved second chances in life as she was very blessed and grateful to have had many herself.

Jessica left a legacy of selfless acts of kindness and support for that cross section of society with whom most of us never interact. She volunteered countless hours at the Harm Reduction Action Center in Denver, providing clean needles to drug users to prevent the spread of HIV and other diseases while also disseminating various community resources. Jessica was excited to start a new volunteer position in the arts & crafts department at the Franklin Park Convalescence Home.

Jessica created and was the Online Media Manager/Events Planner for "Pay It Forward & Save a Soul Fundraising."

Jessica also spent time and her own resources feeding homeless people, providing shelter to anyone who needed a temporary home and befriending many people who simply had no one else in their life. She was an outspoken advocate against any form of discrimination.

Jessica was fiercely protective of her "Mama Dukes."

As anyone who truly knew her, Jessica was an extremely loyal and devoted friend. She had many "brothers" and "sisters" as part of her extended family in Denver and Jersey.

Jessica had a life-long love of all God's critters, except squirrels! She volunteered to support various animal-related fund raisers and also trained dogs to be used as companions for the blind. Jessica had two rescue companion witties, Trouble Bubble and Gilly, who now reside with their "grandparents" and sister Gabby.

Let us create another legacy in Jessica's honor to carry on her acts of love and devotion to improving the lives of the animal kingdom.

I'm excited to share that I'll be partnering with the Humane Colorado, formerly known as Dumb Friends League, in an effort to make a positive impact in our community. My goal is to help end pet homelessness and alleviate animal suffering. I invite you to join me in supporting this noble cause. Together we can make a real difference. Needed treats, toys, and supplies include:

Food items - unopened pet food, canned tuna and chicken in water, hot dogs, cream cheese, canned cat food, lickable cat treats, chicken or turkey baby food (no other added ingredients).

Care Supplies: Puppy pads, towels and blankets, cat and dog beds, cat food dishes, baby gates, exercise pens, sandwich bags, paper towels, dish soap, Lysol spray, disinfecting wipes, trash bags (45 gal or larger).

Enrichment items: Paper lunch bags, new cardboard cat scratchers, carboard egg cartons, paper towel tubes, shoe boxes, large durable new/lightly used dog toys, cat toys,
