Hugh OBrian Youth Leadership

I was offered the opportunity to run the 127th Boston Marathon and benefit Massachusetts Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership by a great colleague of mine and MA HOBY staff member, Ben Belcher. Though it has been five years since my last marathon run, it was always a dream of mine to run Boston and there could be no better organization to run it for than one that promotes leadership in our surrounding communities.

Massachusetts Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership works with high school-age youth and older to help them develop their leadership skills and to learn the importance of community service. The cause hits home with me as someone who sought after opportunities to be a youth leader and I have grown to realize how valuable these programs can be in life. All funds raised will benefit the organization and could give more children the opportunity to gain lifelong leadership skills to support their communities.

ABOUT MA HOBY

-MA HOBY is a global nonprofit organization that hosts leadership seminars for young individuals. These individuals have opportunities to meet distinguished leaders, develop leadership skills and participate in community service. MA HOBY hopes to make these individuals become positive catalysts in their homes, schools, and communities.

-Exposure to leadership development at a young age creates a life-lasting impact & creates a spiral effect for our communities & the upcoming generations.

STORY

-When I was given the opportunity to raise money to benefit MA HOBY I was ecstatic. I was fortunate enough to have mentors at an early age who instilled confidence in me & I know the lasting impact those individuals had to get me on the path I'm on today.

-I hope all young adults have the same opportunity to develop leadership and confidence, & MA HOBY assists with such.

-I picked up running after my collegiate athletic career ended in late November 2021. I was immediately attracted to the mental and physical challenges running provides. Running one of the biggest races in the world will be a life long memory of mine and I can not wait to do so while representing a charity that holds values I root for.
