House Of The Four Winds Foundation

The purpose of the House of the Four Winds Foundation is to preserve & maintain an historical adobe "The House of the Four Winds; La Casa de los Cuatro Vientos" located at 540 Calle Principal Monterey CA. Owned by the Monterey Civic Club, a women's association created in 1906 to act in conjunction with the Merchants Association for the welfare of Monterey. The adobe was the 1st meeting place of this club & purchased by the club in 1914. The adobe is furnished with donated antiques & houses an outstanding collection of Old Monterey's historical adobe paintings. A large meeting hall &foyer were erected on the club's Pacific St side of the property in 1953 & is where the Monterey Civic Club meets. The "Friendship Room & facilities" are available through a sponsorship of a current member.
