Horses are solid hooved animals who compact ground they stand on for long periods of time.  This means that the 12' x 30' loafing paddocks off each barn stall need to have a new four to six inch layer of gravel applied at the very least every two years because it becomes packed down until it falls below the level of the barn floor and water pools in it in the Winter.  We had obtained a grant to accomplish this last Spring just before the coronavirus pandemic struck, forcing us to close our school, the primary source of our operating revenue for six weeks while we put in the safety  protocols necessary to reopen. The funding organization allowed us to use the funds for general operating expenses instead to offset the loss of dues income and therefore this important task was not completed. Winter weather has already created an unhealthy and hazardous situation in the paddocks with the horses' hooves being constantly wet and packed with mud. Getting new gravel applied is an urgent need for our organization at this time.

To rescue at-risk horses with no other options for survival and provide them with safe and caring lifelong sanctuary.  To provide a structured educational program that will allow young people to learn not only how to ride horses, but also teach their proper care and keep.  One of the goals of this program will be to make horses part of our member families' lifestyles without the necessity of owning a horse. To provide community services to area horse owners that will improve their ability to properly care for their animals.  To assist law enforcement officials in reducing equine neglect and cruelty in our region.  To work at a local, state and national level to improve the general welfare of horses in our society.
