Horizons for Homeless Children

This fall I’ll be running the Cambridge Half Marathon in support of Horizons for Homeless Children - an incredible nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of young children experiencing homelessness in Massachusetts.

Their mission is powerful: to provide high-quality early education, opportunities for play, and comprehensive family support services.

As a Playspace Activity Leader ("PAL") volunteer, I’ve seen firsthand how meaningful these moments of connection can be. I spend time each week at a local shelter playing with kids - reading, building, pretending, listening... It’s an opportunity for them to just be kids.

We're raising money to benefit Horizons for Homeless Children, who's mission is to improve the lives of young homeless children and help their families succeed by providing high-quality early education, opportunities for play, and comprehensive family support services. Any donation will help make a tremendous impact on these children's lives, so thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.

As we know, this past year has been incredibly difficult for everyone.  We have had our friends and family, businesses, and in-person learning and work taken away from us. And for children who are homeless, the challenge to thrive has been ever more inconceivable. In the past year alone, nearly 50% of the families Horizons serves reported earning less than $10,000.

Your contribution could not come at a more critical time, and we feel privileged to partner with Horizons for Homeless Children on such an important mission to combat the effects of homelessness and preserve the power of childhood.

This fundraiser will work alongside all proceeds generated from Open Haüs, Boston's premier charity concert series. In 2019, Open Haüs premiered with its debut show featuring Sam Feldt and What So Not, raising over $20,000 for Habitat for Humanity. This year, we're looking to leave an even greater impact, for a cause we hold near and dear to our hearts.
