Hope for Children of Tigray

Hope for Children of Tigray (HCT) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that is committed to helping the children of Tigray. HCT was created with the belief that all Tigrayan children are entitled to a stable childhood and opportunities.

Because of the current war in Tigray, thousands of families have fled to refugee camps in Sudan to escape the ongoing violence. Many more are stuck in Tigray and facing famine, instability, and ethnic-based violence. Tigrayan children in both Tigray and Sudan need immediate assistance. HCT is aiming to provide financial help for children who are in immediate need of it.

Many Tigrayan refugee children are living in single parent households due to the war or have lost their parents and are living with surrogate families. A group of HCT volunteers visited Sudan this summer to support Tigrayan children in Sudanese refugee camps. We have created partnerships with Tigray community organizations in Sudan who are currently working with refugees. The organization has provided support for a children’s soccer team and circus group at Um Rakuba refugee camp. We have also agreed to sponsor 20 children at Um Rakuba and Tenedba refugee camps.

Currently, HCT is fundraising to sponsor children at Um Rakuba and Tenedba refugee camps in Sudan. Please help our efforts to increase the number of children we can sponsor! A monthly gift of $50 or an annual gift of $600 will sponsor one Tigrayan child at Um Rakuba and Tenedba refugee camps. This money will enable families to provide food, clothing, enrichment activities, and stable housing for children. Any support would be greatly appreciated!
