HIV Education & Prevention Project of Alameda County

Fordham Surgical Society is starting a HIV/AIDS initiative to raise money for charity as well as teach our members about stigma in the healthcare system. Overall, we want to create more open minded doctors and destigmatize HIV/AIDS in our community.

HELLO!

We are West Oakland Punks with Lunch (Website) . We are a volunteer run, participant centered outreach and training organization primarily working with people who use drugs and unhoused folks. We are asking for donations for the next year 2022!

We have been in operation since 2015 and look forward to another year providing services to our program participants.

Since 2020, we have expanded our outreach to provide services to two more locations and have now added various more supplies (including hygiene supplies like bath wipes, razors, shaving cream, etc, food pantry, absorbent underwear, Ensure shakes, etc). We have been so lucky to have used our funds you all helped us raise to provide more supplies to people!

In order to continue our work, we can always use donations from people like you -- whether it is $1 or $2000, every little bit counts!

Our volunteers engage in direct community outreach while encouraging destigmatization of drug use and poverty. By connecting with our program participants, we empower and provide a safe space for individuals to make informed decisions regarding their own lives.

West Oakland Punks with Lunch is crowd funding for a van!

In the past year, PWL has grown significantly! We've expanded our outreach, distribute more supplies than ever, and have gained access to the food bank which allows us to provide pantry items to our participants! This has been an amazing year, but we have come into an issue: WE NEED A VAN!

Traditionally, PWL has relied heavily on volunteer cars for getting donations, transporting supplies, and doing mobile outreach. The burden of carrying heavy loads has caused wear and tear on volunteers cars and sometimes we just don't have access to the transportation we need to conduct services.

So, we are asking for your help to help us buy a van that will help us get donations, help us with outreach, etc.

We are asking for $40,000 as our base fundraising goal.

Any extra funds will go to fixing up the inside and making sure it fits our needs!
