Save Colonie's Historic House with Your Help
The Town of Colonie, NY like many others, has witnessed the loss of numerous historic sites.- and there could be another huge loss for both history and preservation unless the Historical Society of Colonie can raise enough immediate financial support from the community.
In a little less than two weeks, Colonie will loose one of the oldest houses in the Town.
A section of this historic farmhouse at 99 Johnson Road is of Dutch design and dates back to around the 1760’s. The house is on both the National and State Reg-
isters of Historic Places, and was the home of a Van Rensselaer tenant
farmer and Revolutionary War soldier.
The Historical Society of the Town of Colonie would like to save this house for the community.
These losses are not merely about buildings or landmarks, but about the narratives they convey, the identities they shape, and the sense of continuity and connection they provide. Preserving the historic sites we have left is vital for maintaining the unique character and heritage of Colonie and ensuring the legacy for future generations.
I'm raising money to benefit Historical Society of the Town of Colonie County of Albany State Of, and any donation will help make an impact.
By donating to this cause, you can play a vital role in ensuring that this historic treasure remains standing, a tangible link to our past and a source of inspiration for generations to come.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
