Help our spanish class raise money for Puerto Rico! 

Two months after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, the American territory is still struggling. Just under 28% of people have power, 77% have running water, and 67% have access to telecommunications services. 

They need our help! We are raising money to donate to the Hispanic Federation, a local charity in Puerto Rico with a 95.47/100 score and a 5 star rating from charitynavigator.org.

The New Studio on Broadway class of 2020 is putting on a benefit concert to raise funds for the relief efforts for Puerto Rico. The students of NSB are working directly with the Hispanic Federation for this event.

The Hispanic Federation  was founded in 1990 with the mission to “empower and advance the hispanic community.” Through membership services, advocacy services, and community assistance programs, foundations, media, elected officials, government and private sector partners to help achieve their mission. In 2016 alone, Hispanic Federation has increased their national reach to over 16 states, helped over 150,000 families and individuals with direct social services, and awarded $2.6 million to 130 Latino nonprofits. Their philanthropic reach covers many areas, including awarding college scholarships, increasing health insurance enrollment, job training, and citizenship assistance. HF prides itself on its readiness to act and help those in need in response to natural disasters. Over the years, Latinx victims of natural disasters in Central America and the Caribbean have received millions of dollars from HF, and, with the help of their “family of Latino nonprofits” they have helped affected families in providing basic needs for those affected. We as a class have decided to partner with Hispanic Federation and their team of nonprofits in raising funds for disaster relief efforts for those affected by the recent hurricane in Puerto Rico.

Our performances take place on December 10th and 13th, with all proceeds going to to the Hispanic Federation. Join us for two nights of wonderful music for a great cause!

Laurent-Perrier Champagne is raising money to benefit relief efforts in Puerto Rico following the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria. 

100% of your donation will go to The Hispanic Federation, a 4-star vetted charity that donates at least 90% of all funds raised to ground efforts in PR. 

Please donate now and we invite you join us on Monday October 23rd from 6-8pm at ACE Bar NYC for an evening of bubbles & wine to raise a glass to all our efforts. A donation of $40 or more buys you entry to the event where you'll receive a wristband for the open bar; which includes Laurent-Perrier Brut, red & white wine, & draft beer. 

We will be auctioning off prizes (large format bubbles & wine, restaurant gift certificates!)  and giving out awards for the biggest donations of the evening.

Please join us in helping our dear friend MeduSirena Marina raise funds for the people of Puerto Rico, as they recover from 2 historic hurricane disasters. This beautiful island is Marina's birth place and she still has many friends and family on the island.  It's Marina's birthday this Saturday, and what better way to celebrate than with a fundraiser for this cause ?  Audrey Moorehead is organizing a drawing for various items like mugs, art, jewelry etc. at this weekend's Tiki Makeke event at Don the Beachcomber.  Your donation here will enter you into that drawing !!

Kari is auctioning off his Soul Cycle Virginity to benefit the recovery efforts in Puerto Rico.  Feel free to make requirements as a part of your donation.  Here's what we have so far - 
-Growing out the creepiest mustache possible
-All spandex/shirt wearing "slay all day" or "Crush it"
-Offering mustache rides to his fellow riders

Need ideas?  Sweat bands, glow bracelets, I can request specific songs or ask the instructor to call him out? The world is your oyster!

The ride is next Sunday at 11.45 am at Soul Cycle Marin.  Would LOVE for you to join us (let me know I will reserve you a bike) or join us at 12.30 for after class heckling, and lunch.

As you know, Emilio's friends and family in Puerto Rico are in the process of recovering from the devastating effects of Hurricane Maria. Several of you have asked me where you can donate to help in the relief efforts.  I can think of no better way to thank Emilio for his contributions and friendship than a collective donation to help Puerto Rico get back on it's feet!  I chose the Hispanic Federation as the recipient of our donations due to their stellar reputation and (I'm not ashamed to say it) Lin Manuel Miranda endorsement.
