Help KPGC 88.7 Bring The Light to More Listeners
KPGC 95.1, the Christian, nonprofit, noncommercial FM station broadcasting from Norman, Arkansas, is just weeks away from becoming KPGC 88.7, a full-power FM station broadcasting at 2100 Watts. Many in the surrounding towns and communities have been listening to KPGC 95.1 as a 90 Watt low-power FM station since January 2017. Those familiar with the station are anxious to see an expansion of the coverage area with the new KPGC 88.7 The Light, and we're excited to reach many new friends and listeners all over the area!
Since KPGC does not run commercials, free public service messages are announced for local churches, municipalities, and organizations during program breaks. Other public service announcements that are relevant to the needs of the community are also aired. Plans are being developed with the authors of some weekly columns in local newspapers to create complimentary programming on KPGC 88.7, as well.
Past challenges have always been resolved through prayer and community support. The Italian manufacturer of the new transmitter has had difficulty obtaining parts to fulfill our order, and locally, technical issues in the construction of the new station have temporarily limited the coverage area of KPGC 95.1 FM. This has prevented reception of the station in Glenwood, where it could previously be heard. We have ordered a different model of transmitter that will be available for shipment within the next two weeks. And when the new, more powerful transmitter goes on the air, Glenwood and Mt. Ida listeners will have even better reception than before. Much of Montgomery County will be covered, as well. We humbly ask you to keep KPGC Radio in your prayers.
The transmitter is half paid for with funds previously raised, but before it can be shipped, the final payment must be made. Community support is needed to help raise the additional $8,000 to get KPGC 88.7 The Light on the air. A generous donor has offered $1,500 as a matching grant; any amount donated up to that point will be doubled.
KPGC has esteemed underwriting supporters. As underwriters, they receive 30-second on-air mentions of their business 2 to 4 times daily for less than one dollar per announcement. Underwriting rates will increase after the new station goes live, so interested businesses and organizations are encouraged to act now to lock in the current rates for the next year.
We encourage you to make a donation in any amount you can provide as a supporter, or consider underwriting support for your business or organization. Every verified donor who sends their contact information to the station will receive a commemorative coffee mug. Donors will also be thanked publicly on the air (those wishing to remain anonymous will not be mentioned).
Our mailing address is: His Will, Inc., P.O. Box 32, Norman, AR 71960. His Will, Inc., the owner of KPGC Radio, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), so your donation or underwriting may be tax deductible (please consult your tax advisor). Thanks for your consideration and support for KPGC... as we grow to serve you better!
