Hina's Legacy is an organization is dedicated to making a profound impact in our community. Together, we can help them continue their essential work and bring hope to those in need.

Hina's Legacy is currently raising funds for PHASE 1 of building a sustainable facility, Hale Ola Paws.

With growing potential to become able to house rescued animals also to be the hub to house animals affected in natural disasters.

The goal is to create a sustainable shelter that helps to pay for its own rescue work, rather than only relying on donations. Lots of the money raise through the facility will go directly to the biggest expense: veterinary bills.

Most of us want to do something to help during this season of torrential downpour in Hawaii, but we are not sure how to help.

Right now, Hina's Legacy Rescue Foundation, and the other animals around the island are being absolutely FLOODED. And while doing their many rescue efforts, they are losing power/electricity for long periods of time. This causes delays in their rescue and foster efforts.

These funds will help with emergency supplies, such as tarps, flooding equipment/sandbags, weather-appropriate housing units for animals, and a generator...to name just a few of the supplies needed.

I've found Hina's Legacy to be a true grassroots movement, who are constantly helping and voicing the needs of animals ALL across the islands, not just the ones in their care.

At Hina’s Legacy Rescue Foundation, we believe that every animal deserves a second chance at life, love, and safety. Our mission is to rescue at-risk animals, particularly those who have been abandoned, neglected, or find themselves in life-threatening situations. But we can’t do this alone.

While organizations like the Humane Society do incredible work, they often cannot provide rehabilitation for animals who are scared, skittish, or too traumatized to adapt in their shelter environment. These animals, who cower in corners or shut down, can sometimes be considered for euthanasia. Just like Happy, who remains at HHS, deeply traumatized by his past and still waiting for a second chance. Happy is an example of the many animals who, without rehabilitation, may never fully recover or find a way out of the shelter.

At Hina’s Legacy, we are committed to helping those very animals by offering them rehabilitation and a chance to heal. Our goal is to bring them to an adoptable state, giving them the opportunity to experience love and safety in a forever home.

As our rescue efforts grow, the need for a dedicated space has become more critical. Right now, we rely on a network of fosters to help rehabilitate and care for these vulnerable animals. However, without a physical facility, we are often limited in how many animals we can take in—especially in emergencies.

With your support, we are looking to establish a permanent space where:

• We can safely intake emergency cases

• Provide a temporary haven for animals in desperate need

• Offer on-site rehabilitation and care for at-risk animals

• Ensure fosters and adopters have a central place to connect with our rescue

Hi everyone! It’s my birthday, and this year, instead of gifts, I’m asking for donations to support Hina's Legacy Rescue Foundation. Hina's Legacy work countless hours dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and medically clearing or medical rehabing strays, community owned, and animals that fall victims to animals cruelty. Unfortunately we turn animals away daily because we do not have a home base for animals. We are foster based and don't have enough fosters to fulfill the need necessary to rehabilitate all animals, especially those with behavioral issues. Having a facility give us the opportunity to make sure we can intake animals of trauma and need consistent rehabilitation to allow them.a second chance at life in a safe and productive manner. Bandit is a 56 lb male pitbull found by students at the BYU-Hawaii campus on Feb 27th. He has a serious eye injury, a corneal rupture, and also had 4 deep cuts (lacerations) on his front legs, a double ear infection, and ribs sticking out due to being underweight.

He has been in a temporary foster home while undergoing treatment to see if the eye can be preserved - it has made no improvement and now eye removal surgery (enucleation) is his next step. This surgery is very expensive, we are estimating at least $2,000.

A wonderful, compassionate and skilled medical foster has stepped forward opening her home for his post-operation care for the 2-4 weeks following surgery, if we can raise enough funds to cover the procedure, and Hina's Legacy Rescue Foundation, a local dog rescue and advocacy group on Oahu, has stepped forward to take legal custody of Bandit while he is going through medical. And we, his original foster finders, are also willing to continue to give him love and care, after already investing 14 days and over $900 of personal funds to get him to where he is now.

This is where YOU come in. We need 2,000 people to contribute $1 each, or 1,000 people to contribute $2.... you get the picture. Bandit is a SWEET, sweet pitbull who has hit some tough times and deserves a community effort to lift him back to health and into a permanent forever home.

We are hoping to get this amount raised ASAP so we can get him into surgery and start his healing process. We have set a target of $3,000, knowing that while the initial surgery will be $2K, his aftercare medications and vet checkups will also need support, too. Any surplus raised that beyond Bandit's immediate medical needs will go to further Hina's Legacy Rescue Foundation, and we thank them for their compassion work for all of Oahu's dogs in need.
