Antisemitism at the Claremont Colleges is no longer hidden. Students are being told that Jews are “spawn” and “Satan,” that “Zios aren’t welcome.” These words dehumanize and isolate Jewish students simply for believing in their people’s right to exist, to connect with their history, and to hold diverse views.
Claremont Hillel is standing strong — as Hillel has for more than 100 years — helping Jewish students be proud, resilient, and courageous in the face of intimidation and hate. Every day, our team shows up to ensure that no Jewish student faces these challenges alone.
But we can’t do it without you. Your support funds the people and spaces that make Jewish life possible in Claremont. Please do refer to the links below:

Please remember, every donation counts—no matter the size. Do not be daunted by the numbers below; what matters most is the generosity of your heart. Each gift, large or small, goes directly towards advancing our shared mission and creating a meaningful impact. We invite you to give with an open heart, knowing your support truly makes a difference.
Our Three Urgent Needs
1. General Operations — $100,000
Our five dedicated staff members put themselves on the front lines so that students don’t have to face harassment and hostility alone. Many nights we work late; many mornings we wake up exhausted — but we do it because our students need us. Your gift keeps our team in the fight. Without your support, there will be no Hillel presence next year.
2. Security — $50,000
We’re building a new Jewish community house off campus — a safe space where students can gather openly. To keep it secure, we need cameras, alarms, gates, locks, blinds, and professional security for large events. Your support helps us create safety and peace of mind.
3. A Haven for Jewish Life — $60,000
Behind our new house is a neglected garden that could become a beautiful courtyard — a place for Shabbat dinners, guest speakers, and holiday celebrations. Renovating this space will allow us to welcome 60 students instead of 20. Help us create a warm, inviting, and secure home for Jewish life in Claremont.
Your Support Makes Jewish Life Possible
This is what Hillel was built for — to stand tall in moments like this.
